Moving Labor FAQ
Common questions about hiring moving help in Fort Wayne. If yours isn't here, call or text 260-258-6680.
- What does moving labor mean?
- Moving labor is help with the physical work of a move — loading, unloading, carrying and placing items — without a moving truck included. You supply the truck, trailer, storage unit or container, and we supply the crew.
- Do you provide a moving truck?
- Many customers rent a truck or trailer, or have a container delivered, and we supply the crew. For small local moves, single-item deliveries or larger jobs, ask when you call — we'll tell you honestly what we can handle for your date. Nothing is booked until we confirm.
- What should I have ready before the crew arrives?
- Have boxes packed and closed, a clear path from the door to the vehicle, parking sorted out, and anything you don't want moved set aside and marked. If you have moving blankets, straps or wrap, have them out and ready.
- Can you handle stairs, basements and second floors?
- Yes, and it's helpful to tell us up front. Stairs, long carries from a parking area, elevators, and narrow hallways all change how long a job takes, so mentioning them lets us plan the right crew and give you a more accurate quote.
- What about very heavy or oversized items?
- Tell us about pianos, safes, gun safes, treadmills, large appliances, pool tables or oversized furniture when you request a quote. Some items need extra people or specific equipment, and we'll be straight with you about what we can take on.
- How far in advance should I schedule?
- Reach out as soon as you know your date. Weekends and end-of-month dates fill up fastest. If you have a short-notice move, call or text and we'll tell you what's actually available.
- How does the quote process work?
- Call, text, or send the quote form with your move date, both locations, and a description of what needs moving. We use that to estimate crew size and time, then give you a quote before anything is booked.
- What areas do you serve?
- Fort Wayne and nearby Allen County communities including New Haven, Huntertown, Leo-Cedarville, Grabill and Woodburn. If you're a bit outside that, ask and we'll let you know.
- Do you help with in-home moves and rearranging?
- Yes. Moving furniture between rooms or floors, clearing a room before flooring or painting, and general rearranging are all common requests.
